Main points concerning BUYERS.
Examination of goods. Prospective buyers are strongly
advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested, before the auction
takes place. Buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves concerning the condition
of the goods and matters referred to in the catalogue description.
Catalogue Descriptions. While every care has been
taken by Batemans in the preparation of our catalogue, any statement as to authorship,

selling price is a statement of opinion and is not to be taken as a statement or representation
of fact.
Registration before bidding. Every prospective buyer
should complete and sign a registration form before making a bid at auction. You will
be given a number which you should hold up for the auctioneer to see if you are bidding.
Commission
Bids. If you cannot attend the sale you can complete a commission bid form which
instructs Batemans to bid on a lot on your behalf. Since this service is undertaken
as a free service to prospective buyers on the terms stated, we cannot accept liability
for failure to make a commission bid. Prospective buyers should therefore always attend
personally if they wish to be certain of bidding. PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibility
of the prospective buyer to contact Batemans after the completion of the sale to establish
whether their bid was successful and to arrange collection and payment within the
allotted three days following the sale.
Telephone Bids. Batemans can also arrange to contact
bidders to enable them to participate in the bidding by telephone - please complete
a form available at the office.
Buyer's Premium. In addition to the hammer price,
a buyer's premium at the rate of 15% of the hammer price of each lot (together with
any Value Added Tax chargeable thereon) is payable by the buyer to Batemans for their
own retention and will not be waived.Value Added Tax is always payable on the premium.

Cheques and Drafts should be made payable to Batemans. We accept all major credit

will be subject to a 2% surcharge of the total amount payable. There is no surcharge
for Switch and UK debit card payments. Non UK debit cards are subject to a 2% surcharge.
Sterling cheques drawn on UK bank accounts and supported by a cheque card valid for
the amount due can be cleared immediately. All other sterling cheques drawn on UK
banks will generally clear on the fifth working day after receipt.

purchases are not collected within three days after the sale, whether or not payment
has been made, we shall arrange storage at the buyer's expense, charged at £1 per
lot, per day thereafter, and only release the items purchased after payment has been
made in full of storage, removal, insurance and any other cost incurred, together
