A fine Meiji period Japanese carved ivory okimono of a tradesman
seated on a large horned water buffalo conversing with a farm worker standing on the ground carrying a rake and a basket on
his back. Signed to the base. 19cms x 19cms on a naturalistic carved base, circa 1900. Sold for £4,900.

When unusual items go under the hammer sometimes even we are
surprised at the priced reached! Such was the case with this rare bone-ended walking stick decorated with Huguenot silver piquet work.
Dated with an inscription on the silver collar, this topped all expectations to sell in a recent sale for £2700.
