Sporting collectibles/autographs and signatures: a Gray Nicholls Ltd cricket bat 'Crusades', signed to the left hand side by the infamous Australian 'Invincible's' 1948 team (captained by Don Bradman) to the right hand side by a Cambridge University team. The names of all are quite faded, but include 14 Australian signatures, including Ray Lindwall, W J Johnstone, Colin McCool, Sam Loxton, Ron Hammance, and indistinctly Don Bradman. (Most of University signatures indistinct.) The Australian team of this date became known as the Invincible's for their unbeatable run during the 1948 series. Provenance: by descent, originally given to Mr Cyril Coote, grounds-man at Fenners Cricket ground, Cambridge.

(According to the vendor the helmet is not his racing helmet, as the colour on his racing helmet were red and silver. This was his private crash helmet from the early 50s and therefore, he is not pictured wearing it.) The vendor does think that the helmet has been re-painted at some point in its history.
